My First UNO

UNO for beginners.

Work on manual dexterity, in-hand manipulation, visual discrimination, coordinated use of both hands, socialization skills, process skills, executive functioning skills, play and leisure exploration and participation

In the box: 36 cards
Ages 3+, 2-4 players

My First UNO is a simplified UNO game to introduce the game to beginners. This game has easy-to-hold large cards and a modified deck. Deck includes wild cards, number cards, and draw 2 cards - no reverse or skip cards. The pictures are big and bright and My First Uno decks come in lots of different themes.

Play like regular UNO. Shuffle cards and deal 5 to each player. Set the deck on the table and turn over one card which becomes the discard pile. Players take turns discarding one card onto the discard pile. Card must match the top card by number or color. A wild card, however, can be played at any time and allows the players to change the color to whatever color he wants. The next player must play that new color. A draw 2 card will force the next player to draw 2 cards instead of discarding one. If you don't have a card to play, draw one card from the pile. If you can play it, go ahead. If you can't, your turn is over. When you are down to one card you must announce it by saying "UNO". First person out of cards is the winner.

Wild card, number card, draw 2 card

Try this:
  • Take out the draw 2 and wild cards when introducing the game. Add them back one at a time after the child has learned to play.
  • Sort the cards by number and then by color to introduce the matching elements.
  • Practice fanning cards and adding one to the hand or subtracting one from the hand without playing a game if this is difficult.
