Jumbo Knob Puzzles

Very simple shape puzzles for kids. The wooden board is thick and heavy duty. The pieces are large and have a large, easy-to-grasp knob. The picture is also printed on the background to aid in placement. This puzzle will hold up well over time. Store flat as, with lots of Melissa & Doug toys, there is no box or way to keep the pieces in the board.

Try this:

• Place the pieces next to the board upside down, requiring the individual to orient each piece for placement.
• Put puzzle board on a slant board to work.
• Place the piece on the opposite side of the board from the dominant hand to require crossing over for pick up.
• Remove only one piece and place it by the board with a piece from the second puzzle. Ask the individual to choose the missing piece. Put the piece in a grouping with three or four pieces and do the same.
• Work on visual discrimination, spatial relations, reach/grasp/release, manual dexterity, play and leisure exploration and participation
